Oma-ha-ha-ha...

Well I felt the rath of Omaha today when I played in the $1500 Omaha hi/lo at 5pm.  The tournament actually started off great, I was able to turn my 3k starting chip stack into 10k within the first hour!  I had a really passive table so I was able to play real aggressive picking up a bunch of small pots.  My goal in this tourney was to keep the pots as small as possible, playing big pots in this game can be very dangerous.  Things were going well then high stakes poker pro Chau Xiang was moved to my left with twice as many chips as I had.  Right away I tightened up because he was playing like a maniac, playing every pot.  I went into the first break definetly one of the chip leaders of the tournament till the sickness started to happen.  I'm not going to bore you all with a bunch bad beat stories but 3 huge hands in a row when I was miles ahead I got crushed, guys just hitting 1 and 2 outters on me not only to win half the pot... but to scoop (win the hi and lo).  So with about 200 players remaining I was in the big blind and it was folded to small blind and the lady sitting to my right calls and I check with 2,3,5,6 double suited.  I get an amazing flop of 2,3,4 rainbow which gives me the nuts.  The lady glances at me and bets the pot, I quickly re-pot and she puts me all-in!  At this point I was thinking we probably had the same hand until she turns over K,K,A,8...I was completely shocked that she would 3 bet me all-in with this hand but I was pretty pleased.  Anyways you probably know how the rest of this story goes when the turn brings a King and the river brings a deuce giving her a full house and knocking me out of the tournament.  So sick.

I decided I'm going to play one more WSOP tournament before I come back Toronto, so I'm going to play in the $2000 Limit Holdem tournament tomorrow at noon.  This will be my last chance to win a bracelet so hopefully all goes well.

I'll keep you all posted tomorrow.
