Moving up
A friend of mine just sent me a picture of myself after the bar from 2's going away party....lol And I never puke either! It was that damn Patron.

Ok back to business..
Been getting in a lot of hours at the tables lately and things have really turned around since that shitty weekend I had in Guelph. I've been steadily playing 1/2NL($200 max buy-in) and running pretty good. The last week I've been really focusing on fixing some of my leaks so I cut down to only playing 4 tables at a time to really concentrate on every decision I make and understand why I'm doing it. I went through my losing hands on poker tracker and found I was making some big mistakes against loose passive players. I have to get in my head that these players don't like to fold, they just want to get to showdown to see if there one pair is good. This is great and I often note these players as "Value Town" basically meaning when I have a big hand to value bet on every street to extract as much money from them as possible. I watched some good training videos and focused on when its a good time to second and third barrel bluff in certain situations. This has really helped me fix some of my leaks.
I'm really happy with my game right now and still trying to soak in as much new information as possible especially when moving up to a new limit. I think I've had extra motivation lately because moving up to 1/2NL the money is a lot like I'm used to from the past and feels a lot more worth while. Although grinding at .25/.50NL and 0.5/1NL was invaluable, playing 1/2NL the winnings feel a hell of a lot better. Winning $1000 before I take a shit in the morning is never a bad feeling.
Today was the first time since playing 1/2NL where I ran kinda bad and I stopped playing. I often don't give myself credit in my blogs because I like to use my blogs to vent on my mistakes. But stopping to play this morning and not feeling bad losing was definely a good decision and I'm happy I made it. The hands I lost were pretty gross and when I usually take bad beats I continue to play because in my head I think "I didn't do anything wrong" but sometimes you just need to take a break and start playing again when you are re-focused. Although I didn't make any mistakes I might make a titly decision later in the session that I probably wouldn't make if I was winning.
I'll probably start playing again after I'm done writing this blog or may just continue to watch some NBA/NHL playoffs. There's also the UFC tonight where my little brother is at that I'm contemplating to order. Its just so friggin expensive I can't justify paying $49.99 to watch it. I've ordered a lot in the past and when I'm done watching I always tell myself I could of waited to the next day to download it. Its funny because 20 mins ago I just made a $300 bluff without even thinking about it and now I won't spend 50 bucks to order a fight..lol
Alright let me look through my poker tracker and see if there's any interesting hands I can post.
Hand 1
^ Life's pretty easy when you flop the nuts and have a guy bluffing into you.
Hand 2
^ Now I've never shown myself giving someone a bad beat but I'm posting this one for a couple reasons. One because this hand is kind of standard, me and that guy have beeb 3 betting and 4 betting each other light all session...A,Q vs his small blind raise is usually the nuts in this spot he was just lucky enough to wake up with a hand. The second reason is because damn if feels good, I honestly feel 0% sorrow for this guy because of the thousand of times its happened to me. So.... ship the pot to me!
Hand 3
^ This is how having a loose aggressive image gets you paid off.
Hand 4
^ No sympathy, fuck him.
Now here are a couple of the losing hands I lost today.
Losing Hand 1
^ Standard
Losing Hand 2
^Standard
Losing Hand 3
^ God damn straight draws... can't dodge them
Apparently there's a way on that site where I can post the animated table right on my blog instead of you guys having to click a link but for some reason I can't get it to work. I tried copying the embedded link and posting it here but it just shows the text. If anyone is familiar with that site and knows how to do it let me know please.
Alright going to watch some of this Spurs/Suns game then start to shoot again.
