Weekend Session

I very rarely play poker on weekends, I usually play Monday to Friday and take the weekends off.  But this weekend Julie was going away to a cottage with her girlfriends so I had the condo to myself to play some cards.  I debated on going home to Guelph and relaxing for the weekend but I figured I don't get opportunities like this very often so I'll stay in and try to make some cash.  Saturday and Sundays are known for having a lot of fish at the tables for the obvious reasons that people aren't working and recreational players have more time to play.  Eskal came over to shoot a session also, we fired up our laptops and hit the tables.  Right away I couldn't believe the abundance of horrible players, it was crazy.  I literally saw guys moving all-in on the flop for $400+ into a $25 pot!  And it wasn't just one player, there were a bunch of them just playing like crazy maniacs.  In my mind I was counting how much I was going to win before I got dealt my first hand.  But obviously the poker gods wanted to fuck with me and I started getting grabbed left right and center.  Just losing ridiculous pots having guys shoving into my Aces and then hitting a 2-outter on the river.  To make it worse I looked over at Eskal and he's laughing because someone just snap called off his stack to him with second pair.  I usually have a 3 buy-in stop loss (stop playing after losing 3 buy-ins) but I couldn't bring myself to get up and knew continuing to play would be +EV.  At one point I was stuck about 4.5 buy-ins then things finally started to turn around.  My hands started holding up and I was making some good reads.  I continued to play for another few hours till I won everything back and actually came ahead a couple buy-ins and took a break.  That's pretty much what I did all Saturday and Sunday, it was like one long session with big breaks.  I'd play for a few hours, stop and watch some tv or play some Mario Kart on my Wii (which is sick btw) then get back to the tables.  Here's a graph of how swingy it was, you can see how things started to go down hill around the 1900 hand mark but I was able to turn things around.

Overall I'm pretty happy with the way I played this weekend.  To finish off the blog I'm going to post a bad beat I put on someone and I absolutely love it!  Enjoy
