Shoot loose
Had an interesting session today. I was losing some pretty gross hands, getting it all in with significant equity and getting sucked out on. But those hands really didn't bother me at all. I think this capped game has helped me control my emotions a bit in all-in pots. You get it all-in so often in this game that you can't get excited or upset by the outcome. When I'm playing 1/2NL no cap, you might get it all-in 3 or 4 times in a session, maybe less.. so when an all-in happens, its a little more exciting.. but in the 2/4 cap game, you might get it all in 10-20 times. I've gotten to the point when I get it all in for a coin flip I barely pay attention, I know coin flips in the long run are going to even out, so no point in getting happy if I win.
I was talking to my brother yesterday and he asked me what advantage I have playing in this capped game, thought it would be fitting to talk about it here. Because to be honest, my advantage decreases in this capped game and gives the fish for of an advantage than my regular game. The reason is because there isn't too much post flop play, the game kinda plays like the ending stages of a sit and go. Establishing if your range is ahead of your opponents, and stick it in. Also identifying which players are in there gambling, and which guys are waiting for the nuts. So the reason I play is because the fish are just soooo bad that its worth my time to play. I don't need to get into the specifics because I did that in my last blog, but some of these guys are just incredibly bad. The second these games dry up, I'll quit them... because there's no point playing this game against good regulars.
Ok lets get into some hands from today. I'll start with the losers..
