A session in my eyes..

Ok I'm pretty spun right now, Full Tilt updated their software over a week ago, and it really fucked things up for a lot of people.  Just a lot of glitches, luckily for me I hadn't seen any problems.. things were pretty much normal.  Until today where I'm getting extreme lag, so bad that I had to stop playing.  I would get a 5-6 second pause in between hands, and it has cost me $$$ when getting timed out in big pots.

Anyways, I quit and decided this would be a good time to write a blog.  Yesterday I had a messed up session.  I even tilted for a bit which I haven't done in a while.  I'm pretty disapointed in myself, I didn't do anything really stupid, just started playing my 'C' or even 'D' game at one point and I definitely should of quit.

I don't often show dollar amounts in my blogs, but today I'll make an exception to show the swingy session I had and show how my mind set changed throughout.

I started the session off pretty normal, the games were ok, not great, but I grinded and was playing ok.

As you can see I stayed break even over about 2000 hands.  I kind of got into a lull at this point, wasn't really paying attention much to my tables.  Wasn't being dealt much which can cause this.  I stayed fairly aggressive but had to give up a lot of small pots from guys I knew weren't going to fold.  Then the games started to get a little better, more fish started to sit and the games opened up.

Guys were really throwing their chips aroud.  This is a great time if you can run good and pick up some decent hands, because you'll be able to get some huge value.

I continued to win some decent pots and went from even to up about $1000, which was ok, but I was definitly looking to double or triple that within the hour.  The games started to get better and better, and the fish just kept sitting.  To be honest when I think about it, it was probably the best I've seen the games all year.  Every table was just packed with horrible players that kept reloading and not getting up.  The waiting lists became huge and I was lucky enough to have a seat at all my tables.  I think I was 9-tabling at the time and had no intentions of getting up from any table.

Then out of no where this huge whale sat down.  Now I've experienced all types of fish, but this guy was something special.  He wasn't just open shoving or anything, he would call people down 3 streets with 10 high and call a river shove.  Or limp in with some cock like 7,3 offsuit and call if someone shoved.  I was almost a little suspicious that this guy might of hacked into someone else's account and was just dumping money.  But i didn't really give a shit as long as I could get my hands on some of it.  Within 10 mins the wait list for this table from from 3-4 to like 30-40 people.  It was nuts.  But forutunately for me the poker gods decided this would be the time to bend me over and fuck me sideways.  Here are some of the pots I played during this stretch...

Now I'm not posting these hands to show bad beats, I'm posting them to show you how bad some fish can play.  I'm sure a lot of you reading this want to jump right to the tables and find guys like this, because they are trying to give away their money the best way they can.  I'll be honest, I see guys like this all the time, but never in such a short span and at the same time.  Its usually one of these monkey's sitting with 5 other regulars seeing who can get his money first.

I continued to play and kept getting rocked.  And this is where I started to tilt... not because I was taking bad beats, or losing flips or anything like that.  Trust me I barely even think about stuff like that anymore, I'm pretty immune to it.  I started to spin because getting 9 tables filled with fish is HUGE rarity, I might see it a couple times a year.  And this is the one time I had to run like cock and not win a pot.. the worst part about it was that they were winning off me, but losing to everyone else.  So I would dump 1k to a fish, then he would play the same way against the rest of the table and lose, then he would come right back to me, I would fatten him up again, then dump it to another regular.  I tilted big time cuz of this, which is retarded.. but it happens.

As you can see I got smoked during this time.  It wasn't long either.. I managed to lose about $2500ish in maybe 30-45 mins or something like that.   And it was all to the fish.  Which I knew was a good thing because I'd rather lose to them and not some tight regular who is going to sit on his stack.

So like I was saying I was tilting at this point, but I had zero intentions on getting up.  I knew even when tilting I had a huge edge over these guys, I just had to focus on getting off tilt and play normal again.  I did what I usually do when I'm tilting, sit out from all my tables, walk away from my computer, take some deep breathes, and relax.  I'll walk around for about 5 mins to get my blood circulating again, and once I feel less steamed, I'll sit back down.

When I sat back down I was lucky that none of the fish got up and I knew I had a chance to win it back.  I told myself even if I continued to get fucked, I'd play well and make correct decisions.  I was officially off tilt and focused on my tables.  Things started to turn around, and  was able to pick up some pots.  I ran decent for the next hour or so and started to find my 'A' game.

Here's a look at some of the winners:

(The guy in the big blind was squeezing every chance he got, thats why I flatted KK in this spot preflop.  Although I do mix up my play and do this from time to time)

I won a bunch more pots during this time frame.  The tilt obviously disapears pretty quickly when you start winning pots.  At this point in my session I was getting really tired, I was playing longer than I usually do and my ass was killing me from sitting so long.  I still had no intentions to get up, but I had an appointment with my real estate agent to look at more places.  That spun me a bit because the games were still good and didn't look like they were changing.... but I had to quit and fortunately I was able to get unstuck and show a bit of profit.

Even though I did win a bit, I still ran over -$1000 under expectation, but not much I can do about that.  It was a fairly swingy session, not extremely out of the ordinary I guess, but a little cuz I tilted.

I'm really hoping Full Tilt fixes their software soon so I can hit the tables again, they are costing me $$$ and its getting aggrivating.  And with this weather, I'm pretty much stuck inside.... Oh well, maybe I'll relax for a bit and play with some of the new toys I bought (I'll mention them in next blog)

Later!
