In Miami!

What's up guys,

My flight was a bit delayed from Toronto, so I'm sitting in the airport right now.  I should be in Miami in a few hours.  I'm going to do my best to blog while I'm there to keep everyone updated.  Also, apparently they have a guy there who is going to be video blogging the entire trip and putting it on youtube.  So once I find out the link or whatever I'll post it on here.

(Chillin in the airport)

Here's a quick write up from the Cardrunners website:

Nine Team CardRunners pros and instructors head to Miami today to usher in the inaugural Camp CardRunners. Attending are the lucky winners who qualified via Truly Free Poker Training. Anyone in TFPT who earned 15,000 points between July and December automatically received one entry for each month over 15,000 points.

Camp CardRunners will be hosted by Isaac "westmenloAA" Baron, Taylor "Green Plastic" Caby, Ryan "Daut44" Daut, Brian "Stinger" Hastings, Eric "p3achy_keen" Liu, Mike "Schneids" Schneider, Andrew "muddywater" Wiggins, Scott "iRock" Augustine and Corwin "[vital]Myth" Cole. The winners receive three nights at the Gansevoort South in Miami, dinners, golf, and more with the pros, and a personal leakfinder to help them improve their poker game. All this just for playing at Full Tilt Poker and being a member of Truly Free Poker Training.

Alex "nomo4life" Huang will be video blogging each day and conducting interviews with all the pros and winners.

Congratulations to:

ClvrNickname - ClvrNickname had to triple check his email because Camp CardRunners sounded too good to be true. During his sophomore year of college a friend scored 120k in a tournament, which is when he started taking poker seriously. After grinding 100NL he joined CardRunners, hired a coach, and conquered mid stakes NLHE.

(ME) Goodfella_84 - Canadian Goodfella_84 started playing poker during the Moneymaker boom while in college. After satelliting into a WPT and WSOP events (and cashing in one of the WSOP NL events), he found CardRunners and started to work on his cash game. CardRunners helped him move up from 50NL to 400NL and he currently plays 400-1000 NL. He's also learning HU PLO at the moment.

limitdonkey - Limitdonkey loves gambling and became attracted to poker after watching Gus Hansen in the WPTs. He started with 25-.50 home games and small stakes SNGs, but quickly discovered CardRunners and now beats up to 600NL and 400 PLO. He hopes to improve on the mental aspects of the game, and his favorite instructors are Stinger and iRock, both of whom he'll meet this week.

ManWithBrisk - ManWithBrisk found CardRunners upon a friend's recommendation. He credits CR with helping him improve his poker game and he started beating 10-50 NLHE. After studying with some other CR members one of them turned him onto SNGs, and he now plays primarily $10-$100 SNGs. One of the few winners holding a "real" job, he hopes to go pro in the next year.

straightaway123 - Straightaway123 is a high stakes PLO player, but he initially played $5 NL SNGs when he first discovered poker in college. He attributes many changes in his game to CardRunners, and left his first job after a year to play professionally. He sees CR instructors at his tables on a regular basis, and can't wait to pick their brains about PLO.

byosti - Byosti started playing during the Moneymaker boom when a friend transferred him money to an online site. He started at 100NL when he joined CardRunners and now plays 400NL. He has used CR to help him learn other games including HUNL. He plays professionally and is looking forward to tweaking his game after talking to some of the pros, especially Taylor.

akdb8r - Akdb8r is one of the non-professional poker players joining Camp CardRunners, and plays up to 100NL as a hobby. He is looking forward to the activities with the pros.
